Rehabilitation of Avenue U and Neck Road Stations

Description:

In June 2011, Judlau completed the rehabilitation of the Avenue U and Neck Road subway stations. The upgraded stations benefit both the riding public and transit employees.

At each station, both north and south bound platforms were demolished and reconstructed. New platform canopies were constructed and the entire existing control area, including the token booths and turnstiles, was rehabilitated.

Scope of Work included:

  • Installed drilled piles and pile caps.
  • Utilized both pre-cast and cast in place concrete platforms.
  • Constructed 900 sf additions to both stations.
  • Installed life safety systems throughout the stations.
  • Masonry, plumbing, ventilation and electrical work.
