PROJECTS

Rehabilitation of the Myrtle-Wyckoff Station Complex

  • Client: New York City Transit
  • Location: Brooklyn, NY
  • Project Value: $47,750,000
  • Time Frame: 48 months

Description:

The project involved upgrading the structural and safety features of the station, while significantly improving the aesthetics. The greatest challenge was demolishing an active station, while maintaining complete passenger service.

The Judlau team upgraded both platforms, provided three new elevators, and built a dome level with glass panels and attractive art work. The project included street-level steel repairs to columns supporting the elevated platform, replacement of ventilator gratings, and new sidewalks and road pavement.

Additionally, Judlau constructed air conditioned personnel rooms for NYCT, including a cafeteria and multiple locker rooms. Judlau installed both wet and dry fire sprinklers and a fire alarm system as well as a low-voltage bird deterrent system throughout the stations.
